Meet at 1.50pm outside the Wellcome Building, 183 Euston Road, NW1 2BE.(opposite Euston Station and the RCGP building). There are toilets at the Wellcome Building and the cafe is open from 10am to 6pm on Sundays.

The walk is on level ground, takes about two hours and finishes near Warren Street station.

We will hear about the early, trail-blazing women in medicine including Sophia Jex-Blake, Elizabeth Blackwell, Louisa Aldrich and James Barry, a military surgeon who was not all that he seemed to be.

Our guide is Luisa Dillner, a former doctor, editor of the BMJ and English graduate.
